12,000 Packets Are in the Mail

The buyout packages are in the mail.  If you get one, you’ll get an individualized cover letter, the documents, a green application form and a waiver and up to 42 pages of other people (by age breakdown, job classification and region) who are getting the buyouts, and also a list of people who are not.

Website on www.tn.gov will be live as of noon today.  On Wednesday, it will be updated with all of the agency plans.  According to Goetz, that will include a rationale of how people were chosen for the buyouts.

Information sessions start next week in Memphis.

Application must be submitted or withdrawn by August 5th.  You can’t change your mind after that date.

August 15th is the day your state service will end if you take the buyout.  Your check will come in the mail by September 15th.

If you take the buyout, you can’t work for the executive branch in any entity that took part in the buyout plan until August 15, 2010.
